By definition, orthopedics means “correction of the skeletal system.” As a certified specialist in orthodontics, Dr. Budd and Dr. Yen are also a certified specialist in dentofacial orthopedics.

What are some examples of orthopedics?

• Palatal expanders to make the upper jaw wider
• Functional appliances (such as the Twin Block) to encourage growth and projection of the lower jaw
• Face masks to protract the upper jaw to help in correction of underbites
